There are three ways to get published with Spittoon.

Spittoon Monthly publishes exceptional English-language fiction, poetry and hybrid works which are from or about Asia. As our volunteer editors have moved on to other projects, we are not accepting submissions for the foreseeable future. Thank you so much for your interest and support during the 2-3 years we were consistently publishing.
Spittooncollective.com is also open to other forms of content and collaboration related to China, Chinese literature, global literature, translation, and literary communities. We are always looking for book reviews of literature related to China, translation, global literature, blurred boundaries, etc. Send inquiries to david[at]spittooncollective[dot]com.

What is Spittoon?

Spittoon is a Beijing-based arts collective that produces events and programming throughout China and publishes Spittoon Literary Magazine, all with the goal of bringing together Chinese and foreign writers, artists, and literary enthusiasts. We host regular literature events every Thursday in Beijing and a music-poetry collab event called Spittunes, as well as events in Shanghai, Xi'an, and Gothenberg, Sweden.

The Spittoon Literary Magazine is a biannual publication dedicated to bringing Chinese writing and art to an English-language audience. Our unique team of Western and Chinese writers seeks out, translates, and publishes China's best, most exciting new voices.
